Age Concern New Zealand President Liz Baxendine and Chief Executive Ann Martin briefed Minister Goodhew on the issues that matter to older people including income, health, loneliness and safety.

Health insurers are warning the government of a looming health finding crisis. In a briefing to the Minister of Health, the insurance sector warns of a growing imbalance in health funding over the next 20 years. The Health Funds Association says New Zealand has the fifth highest level of public spending on health in the developed world.
